WWE star Piper Niven broke down laughing when she recalled her tag-team partner Chelsea Green being mistaken for a hotel escort.
The Scottish grappler had been nursing a broken hand when she found out her friend had been kicked out of a Manhattan hotel.
Niven’s injury meant the former tag team champions were absent from the WrestleMania XL card earlier this month.
Green instead was in New York City for WWE’s go-home RAW show pre-Mania when she went for a drink with a friend at The Plaza Hotel.
The pair had hoped to enjoy some luxury on Fifth Avenue in the hotel’s Champagne Bar before heading out to a Broadway show.
However, Green later revealed their plans were ruined by hotel staff who turfed out of the five-star establishment due to her wardrobe.
She wrote on X: “Man… one night you’re wrestling at Barclays Center, having the time of your life and the next you’re being kicked out of
Fairmont Hotels and accused of being an escort because of your outfit.
“Life is funny! Maybe next year I won’t celebrate Wrestlemania weekend at The Plaza Hotel LOL…”
Niven was among the people to find out about the mishap on social media, and she fell about laughing when recapping the story.
In an exclusive interview with talkSPORT, Niven joked: “I wasn’t with her but she told me all about it.
“I think I even commented, “I can’t WAIT to hear about this”, and I heard about it!
“I will probably continue to hear about it until the issue is resolved which I don’t think it is yet.”
Niven’s partnership with Green proved a match made in heaven last August after the latter’s former tag partner Sonya Deville was forced to relinquish her half of the WWE tag titles due to an ACL injury.
While it may have seemed a random pairing by fans, the pair have a storied history together going back to them working for STARDOM in Japan.
Niven explained: “In that time she broke her collarbone, me and another girl, Kaitlin Diamond, helped look after her, wash her hair, take care of her and ferry her around and stuff. It was a bonding experience.
“Honestly, Chelsea’s helped me in so many ways that I don’t think I could ever really tell her.
“She has helped me with my confidence, she has helped me with my wrestling, and kinda just helping me be myself around more people.
“I actually have so much to thank her for.
“All the experiences we’ve had together have just brought us closer together and I really think that’s the kinda chemistry you can’t fake – if it’s there naturally, it will shine through.
“She’s also the prom queen, she’s the gorgeous girl and she has done so much in her wrestling career and she has never ever made me feel less than.
“She’s always bigged me up, she’s always given me so much respect and I love her for that.”
