Jennifer Lopez Finds ‘Dunkings’ Ad Hilarious**

Lopez also unveiled her inaugural tour, ‘This Is Me…Now the Tour,’ after a hiatus of five years.

Jennifer Lopez went all out to support her husband, Ben Affleck, in realizing his “Dunkings” commercial.

During an interview with Hoda Kotb on Today, Lopez disclosed that she enlisted the help of the same studio engineers and music professionals who contributed to her album, This is Me…Now, to produce the infectious track for Affleck’s project.

With the participation of her longtime friend, Matt Damon, and football icon, Tom Brady, Affleck is determined to showcase his potential as a popstar, despite receiving a less-than-enthusiastic response from his wife in the advertisement aired during Super Bowl LVIII.

“It’s incredibly amusing,” Lopez shared with Kotb. “I have full confidence in everything he does because he’s a brilliant director, writer, and overall talent. When he conceived this idea, it was just pure comedy.”

She went on to say, “Matt was fantastic. And having Tom in the mix. The idea of all of them forming a boy band was just priceless.”

Even Today co-host, Carson Daly, joined the fun by dressing up in full Dunkin attire, sporting the orange jumpsuit, pink fuzzy bucket hat, and, of course, a box of Dunkin Donuts.

Daly, fully embracing the “Dunkings” aesthetic, jokingly teased the “On the Floor” songstress for not featuring the fictional boy band’s track, “Don’t Dunk Away at My Heart,” on her ninth studio album.

“It’s amusing because later on, we were at the studio, and I had all the people who contributed to the album present,” Lopez revealed. “He said, ‘I want it to feel authentic. Bring in everyone who worked on the record.’”

“So we gathered in the studio and started improvising. I might even release some clips of us creating the Dunkin song… enhancing it beyond what it was,” she added with a laugh.

Apart from Daly and the Today show team, another Boston native, Mark Wahlberg, expressed his desire to be part of the next campaign.

During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Wahlberg addressed why he wasn’t among the Dunkings.

“I have no clue,” Wahlberg replied to Colbert. “I guess I’m from the other side of the tracks.”

He continued, “I’m trying to earn my spot. But, it’s all in good fun. Hopefully, they’ll reach out to me sooner or later. I’ll be patiently waiting.”

In addition to promoting her new album and Amazon original movie, This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, Lopez made a significant announcement—she will embark on her first tour in five years!

The “This Is Me…Now the Tour” is scheduled to commence this summer, covering over 30 cities across North America.
