LeBron James would not be denied.
Even with one of his kids teasing him and laughing in his face.
The NBA’s all-time leading scorer showed off a warm, personal side in a hilarious video that featured his son, Bryce, and appeared to be filmed in a spacious backyard at night.
During the wholesome footage, James drilled 3-pointers while fending off playful teasing from Bryce.
James’ other son, Bronny, spent last year at USC before entering the NCAA transfer portal and declaring for the NBA draft.
Playing on a makeshift court filled with paving stones, a 39-year-old who’s hit 2,410 career 3-pointers reminded everyone watching how good he is at his line of work.
“It’s not going in,” said Bryce, as James lined up for a long-range shot.
“Why are you trippin’?” James replied.
The Lakers legend smoothly sank his basket, then talked a little familial trash.
“Why are you acting like that?” a smiling James said. “This is what I do. I’m the GOAT, bro. G-O-A-T.”
Another long-range shot by James followed.
Another made basket.
“Stop playing with me, man,” The King of the NBA said.
Bryce quickly requested the ball.
“Give you the ball for what?” his dad joked.
Bryce’s shot fell to the left and didn’t connect.
More laughter followed, as James enjoyed some precious downtime with his family before the NBA playoffs begin.
“LeBron performs best under pressure. GOAT status,” one fan tweeted.
“King James knows himself he is the greatest of all time,” a second fan posted.
“LeBron makes this looks easy,” a third fan wrote.
Others found it a little weird that James took pleasure in calling himself the GOAT out loud.
“Self glazing should remove him from the goat debate,” a fan said.
The No. 7 seed Lakers are set to face the No. 2 Denver Nuggets in the first round.
Denver is favored and swept Los Angeles out of the Western Conference finals last season.
“The Joker is going to cook those clowns,” a fan tweeted.
James won his backyard contest with Bryce in a warm family moment.
Nikola Jokic and the reigning champion Nuggets won’t be as kind on a real NBA court.
