A Liverpool supporter humorously stated that he would prefer parting ways with his girlfriend rather than losing manager Jurgen Klopp in a recent interview that has gained widespread attention on X (formerly Twitter).
The former Borussia Dortmund manager announced his departure from Anfield at the end of the season on Friday (January 26). When questioned about Klopp’s exit by @MailSport, a fan expressed:
“It still hasn’t fully hit me. It feels like losing a close family member, to be honest.”
In response to being asked to choose between Klopp and his girlfriend, the fan amusingly replied:
“She might not be pleased, but I’d choose Klopp over my girlfriend.”
In response to the amusing clip, another fan commented on X:
“That’s the level of affection we hold for our coach.”
Another individual remarked:
“Prioritize wisely, young man.”
Various reactions surfaced on X in response to this video:
“I feel the same way.”
“Exactly, mate, exactly.”
“That’s just how it goes, man.”
“He perfectly captured my sentiments too.”
“He’s not wrong.”
“Me as well.”
“I can relate, having broken up with my girlfriend a day before Klopp’s announcement.”
“So heartwarming.”
Klopp took over at Anfield in 2015 and guided Liverpool to victory in the UEFA Champions League and Premier League once each during his tenure. Additionally, he secured the FA Cup and Carabao Cup once each with the Reds, alongside other accolades.
Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he will not manage any other English club apart from Liverpool:
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has affirmed that he will not lead another English team in the Premier League following his departure from Anfield. Nevertheless, the German emphasized that this decision does not mark the end of his managerial career.
In an interview with LFC TV, he stated:
“But I don’t know obviously how that will feel because I never had the situation. What I know definitely – I will never, ever manage a different club in England than Liverpool, 100%. That’s not possible.
“My love for this club, my respect for the people is too big. I couldn’t. I couldn’t for a second think about it. There’s no chance.”
Klopp may conclude his tenure at Liverpool by securing another Premier League title. The Merseyside club currently leads the league table, five points clear of second-placed Manchester City.
Liverpool is gearing up for two crucial matches that could significantly impact the title race. First up is a home clash against Chelsea on Wednesday (January 31). Subsequently, the Reds face Arsenal on Sunday (February 4), who are also trailing by five points behind the leaders.
