Regardless of your allegiance in this year’s Super Bowl, showing your support for Judge Judy in her latest ruling is undoubtedly a must.
The 81-year-old is set to preside over a glamorous case this weekend, not in a traditional courtroom, but in a captivating new ad campaign for E.l.f. Cosmetics. In this campaign, she will trade her well-known title for the more glamorous moniker ‘Judge Beauty’.
Known to her fans as Judge Judy, Judy Sheindlin stars alongside some of Meghan Markle’s former Suits co-stars in this campaign. Together, they participate in a humorous court case featuring Rick Hoffman, famous for his role as Louis Litt in the legal drama, and Gina Torres, who portrayed Jessica Pearson.
In her signature sassy style, Judge Judy takes her place at the beginning of the ad and boldly states, ‘Beauty fades, dumb is forever.’
The ad unfolds with a dramatic voiceover detailing the ‘legal’ dispute between the two Suits stars. Hoffman is depicted as suing his boss, Torres, for ‘overspending on beauty’.
According to the ad campaign, Hoffman accuses Torres of misusing company funds on excessively priced makeup, suggesting that she has been purchasing high-end makeup using company money.
In a witty retort, Hoffman remarks, ‘Expensive makeup is a scam, much like couples’ therapy or boundaries,’ channeling his character from Suits.
Judge Judy, never one to shy away from a witty remark, questions Torres’ need to spend $92 on foundation, exclaiming, ‘Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.’
Ultimately, Judge Judy finds Torres guilty of extravagant spending and issues her sentence: a bottle of E.l.f.’s $14 Halo Glow Liquid Filter.
Before concluding, Judge Judy humorously comments on Torres’s behavior, emphasizing that ‘no makeup can cover up irritating’.
While Hoffman and Torres endure Judge Judy’s humorous criticisms in the ad, they are not the only notable figures to make an appearance. Sarah Rafferty, who portrayed Donna in Suits, also makes a cameo.
Although Meghan Markle does not feature in the cosmetics commercial, other familiar faces such as Jury Duty’s Ronald Gladden and Meghan Trainor, playing a court reporter, add to the star-studded cast.
Suits, which debuted in 2011 and ran for 11 seasons, experienced a resurgence after being added to Netflix last year. This revival has sparked speculation about a potential reboot in the future.
E.l.f. is banking on the Halo Glow Liquid Filter to steal the spotlight, as it has become a viral sensation among beauty influencers on TikTok. The product was E.l.f.’s top seller in 2023, garnering over 422 million TikTok views.
With one unit sold every four seconds, the Halo Glow Liquid Filter has solidified its status as a viral sensation. E.l.f.’s affordable products are highly praised for their resemblance to popular high-end makeup products.
The Halo Glow has been likened to Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Filter Foundation (49), the 13 Camo Liquid Blush to the 41 Rare Beauty Blush, and the 8 tinted lip oil to Dior Lip Glow priced at $40.
On February 11, the brand will launch limited-edition merchandise, including a sweatshirt, baby tee, and beauty pouch. Additionally, they will introduce the Gloss, Glow & Go product bundle, featuring the Halo Glow Liquid Filter, Lash XTNDR Mascara, Glow Reviver Lip Oil, Suntouchable All Set for Sun SPF 45, and Power Grip Primer for $53.
Following the Super Bowl, Judge Judy will resume her courtroom duties, with the brand preparing to release more content featuring the daytime TV MVP.
