In a shocking post, Ryan Garcia now revealed that he was in tears just moments prior to facing Devin Haney at Brooklyn. As Garcia had already promised to retire provided Haney knocked him out in the very first round of the fight, there was certainly a lot on the line for ‘KingRy’. Additionally, in light of his antics, boxing fans doubted Garcia’s mental health and favored Haney. On that note, before the bell rang at Barclays Center, Garcia was emotionally overwhelmed.
Anyway, with a group of violinists playing a symphony in his locker room, Garcia tried his best to contain himself before stepping inside the ring. In this connection, when Devin Haney’s cornerman Rodney Crisler visited Garcia’s locker room, he felt Garcia’s “aura was right” and that ‘KingRy’ was ready to display a memorable performance. However, little did Crisler know that Garcia “Had to let a cry out.”
Well, now that Devin Haney is defeated and dethroned, Ryan Garcia felt it was time he disclosed pictures of himself crying before the fight on April 20th. Likewise, taking to X, the 35-year-old uploaded some selfies he had clicked while still in the locker room before embarrassing ‘The Dream’. “The emotions before a huge fight don’t judge,” wrote Ryan Garcia. “Don’t meme me,” he added.

However, fans could not help but notice that even though Garcia tried to cry, the boxer from California was very conscious about the whole scene. For example, in one of the photos, Garcia opened an eye to confirm the camera was on. As a result, although fans greatly lauded Garcia’s victory against the former WBC Super-Lightweight champion Devin Haney, some of them could not hold their laugh reacting to Garcia’s mentioned photos.
Boxing fans react as Ryan Garcia uploads the most “memeable pictures”
On April 20th, having dropped Devin Haney thrice, in a completely unexpected performance, Ryan Garcia snatched a majority win over ‘The Dream’. Following the fight against Haney, fans are back to considering Garcia one of the best boxers in the sport. However, when Garcia uploaded pictures of himself crying, one had to ask, “Why did you open one eye to see if the camera was still looking?”
